We slept til just before 8, which was great. With nothing to do to get ready for the day but change and brush teeth, I was ready at 8. The others wanted to stay for breakfast, but I was anxious to get going. It was chilly, but an amazing view. There was so much fog and I couldn't stop thinking what an awesome artist God is.
After a beautiful walk I was in the town of Portamarin. It is on a large lake, which was gorgeous. I stopped for a hot chocolate fix and continued on my way. I was so grateful for all the foot help the night before, because I felt 10 times better.
I stopped for lunch at a picnic bench, still feeling really good. By the time I got to the town I had planned to stop, it was 2. I thought I should take advantage of feeling so good so I had a decision beer and pushed on.
In the next town, I ran into friend from Columbus and two others I had met once before. I walked with them about 7k or so more, I think. We stopped at a town called Eriexe, which is really small, but has a bar/cafe and a decent albergue.
We were sitting at the bar and I mentioned my documentary. A fella from Australia started saying some great things and I told him to save it for the camera. He kept going, so I jumped up and ran back to get my equipment. It was a great conversation and it is moments like these that remind me planning is good, but wonderful things are often out of the blue.
I am days away from Santiago, ahead of schedule, which gives me the chance to go to Finisterre, the end of the world.
