Top 3 anxieties for the Camino

For the past six months I've been getting more and more excited about going on this trip. Yet when I woke up this morning and realized it is officially less than a week away, I started to have some anxiety. Here the top three things I worry about:

  1. Getting lost. Now the "Amazing Race" fan in me is excited to be constantly on the lookout for yellow arrows, but considering I ended up at the active base and not the memorial when I went to Pearl Harbor, I know that I can be directionally challenged. Getting turned around in the car is bad enough, but when you have to walk on foot miles back in the direction you just came from.... let's just hope the yellow arrows stand out!
    The marker along "the way."
  2. Going to the bathroom. While this may seem an odd thing, when I hear that there are miles and miles between towns, it causes me to worry a bit. Hopefully I can train my body to use the facilities when they are available and not have "nature call" at will. If not, my sarong will come in handy. I've read about women tying it around trekking poles to make a makeshift stall on the road!
My sarong will serve many purposes: towel, skit, privacy screen for my bunk...
and possibly a makeshift bathroom stall!
  3. Food. I'm not an adventurous eater by any stretch of the imagination. I could probably eat the same ten meals for my entire life. I guess if all else fails, I will live on chocolate con churros!

Mmm.... chocolate....

Any other peregrinos reading this? Do you have any anxieties before your trip?
