Reunited and it feels so good!

Very soon after my last blog post, I heard the volunteer at the albergue yell, "Erin, the green rucksack!" I yelled back, "Don't tease me, is it really here?!" I ran down the small corridor and we pushed past four very confused, newly-arrived pilgrims to the transport driver at the door. As I struggled to rip off the cellophane, the two German volunteers started giving the delivery driver 'what for.' I was glad I was not on the receiving end of such a tirade. I didn't get involved in the yelling; I just hugged my bag.

I went to mass and then a celebratory glass of vino with a woman from Sweden. We had an excellent evening and when I returned to the albergue I gave each volunteer one of the blessed St James medals. That led to them sharing their personal Camino stories, which was a beautiful, magical moment. The woman gave me a guardian angel necklace in return. I didn't bring these medals to get anything back but it was a great reminder to also be a grateful recipient.

I hope to find an open post office to ship my duplicates ahead to Santiago so I don't have to carry it all for long. Today, I walk about 14 miles to Puenta de Reina!

    1. Thanks Kelly. It was a little rough today with the heavier pack but I made it.
